London Hyde Park Olympic Closing Concert

In typical New Order style we approached this concert with a certain degree of trepidation. While the media, and indeed friends from around the world congratulated us and sent messages of pride in our contribution to this great event, we worried that it might be too big. That the huge crowd of 65,000 might be indifferent to us. That it would rain and the whole thing would be wash out. These, and other negative thoughts were rattling around the camp in the run up to this concert. But dear reader we were so wrong. Olympic fever had taken hold of the UK population and the atmosphere in the park that Sunday afternoon was of a great party. We were so well received that we were left thinking how could we have doubted ourselves, and when will we see such a large crowd singing along to Love Will Tear Us Apart and waiving Union Jack flags again?
