Opener Festival, Gdynia, Poland

On Wednesday 4th July we played our Polish debut concert at the Open'er Festival near Gdansk. The weather had not been looking too good all day. I'd been staring out of my hotel window, through the mist across the Baltic Sea hoping for some sunshine.

The festival was housed on an old disused Eastern Block airfield littered with bunkers and hangers being reused as venues and dressing rooms. The rain had stopped by the time we got to the site, and as we hit the stage at midnight, the clouds cleared, and a full moon shone on the huge crowd.

The reception we received was outstanding, the festival staff friendly and efficient, and the sushi delicious. Please ask us back.

InMusic Festival, Zagreb, Croatia

It was New Order's first visit to Croatia, and the reception we got from the people of Zagreb and the InMusic festival couldn't have been better. After suffering the cold and wet of this years western european summer it was great to be in the sweltering east of europe. Another great concert to a fantastic crowd made for a most enjoyable evening.

Southside and Hurricane Festivals

Our trip to Germany continued with a mad weekend dash right across Germany, from Tuttlingen in Baden-Württemberg in the south to Scheeßel near Hamburg in the north.

Saturday night at Southside ws a beautiful summer evening and the New Order show was another winner.

Sunday night at Hurricane was a different matter. The rain poured down all day. The rain drifted onto the stage. The gear was wrapped in clingfilm and the band pressed on to deliver the best show they could. Respect goes out to the crowd who braved the elements to see the band. We will be back to repay that support.

New Order in Berlin

Well I never did report back on the New Order an Exhibition, and the Tempodrom gig. But those nice people at Electronic Beats have come to my rescue.

Electronic Beats would like to share their video footage of both the show and the exhibition with you.

Sonar Festival Saturday 16th June 2012

It's been great to finally play the great Sonar festival in Barcelona. Sonar have asked us so many times and for one reason or another it has never been possible. So for the first time we got to play not just once, but twice!

After playing the opening party for Sonar on Thursday, to tremendous response from the invited crowd, we were expecting another corker on Saturday. And what a corker it was! In fact I'm not going to patronise you with my usual jive talk, I'm just going to let the picture tell the story.

New Order Festival Season 2012 Vienna/Lyon/Dublin

New Order's summer festival season kicked off with visits to Vienna, Lyon and Dublin. I have to confess to being a bit slow updating the website with these reports, but hey, better late than never!

Vienna 180512 - We hadn't played Vienna for a very long time. The Gasometer is a great venue in a stunning redeveloped industrial gas works site. Great show, great crowd, great to be back.

Lyon 200512 - Next stop Lyon and the Nuits Sonores Festival in another redeveloped industrial venue La Sucrière. The large, high space of La Sucrière gave room to showcase the light show and the gig looked and sounded great.

Dublin 030620 - We arrived in Dublin the day before the show to be greeted by stormy weather. Sunday morning and the rain was still coming down, but by the evening things had cleared up as we took to the stage at sunset. The crowd was with us from the start and the atmosphere only built as it went dark. We always seem to have great shows in Dublin and this was no exception. It was hands in the air all the way to the back of the crowd, past the desks where I was watching from. A highlight of the tour this far, and thanks to the vikings and associates for apres show drinks back at the hotel.

New Order UK Tour

The New Order UK tour kicked off with 2 shows at the Manchester Apollo. On Thursday 26th April a sold out Manchester crowd experienced the love we've been spreading worldwide. Check the new photo gallery and review. It was a pleasure to welcome Jake Evans as our support on the show. On Friday night the excellent Hot Vestry played again with Factory Floor opening for us on another well received, sell out, home town show. Sunday night was another sold out show at the Birmingham Ballroom, with New Order, support Jake Evans and DJ Tintin all receiving a rapturous reception.

On Wednesday 2nd May we played the first of our two London Brixton Academy shows. It's getting a bit boring saying yet another brilliant sell out show, but it was, with Jake Evans providing excellent support. The second night at the Brixton Academy was even better than the first and we also had the excellent The Whip opening for us. To coincide with there performance The Whip are offering a free download from their soundcloud of their track "Master of Ceremonies". Enjoy.

Then it was up to Scotland for the weekend and our Glasgow and Edinburgh shows. The atmosphere in Glasgow was fantastic, probably the highlight of the tour. The Edinburgh audience was more reserved but the majestic Usher Hall made a great set for the band and their light show. Opening for us on these two shows was our firend Jez Kerr and the Family Bizarre. Finally we finished the tour in Newcastle on Tuesday 8th May tired but happy. Support came from The Evil Poor.

All in all a spectacular success for New Order and a great tour. How was it for you?
